Elevating to New Heights began in 2024 when a social worker and former special education teacher began fostering justice-involved youth in Lexington, SC. She quickly realized the limitations of the foster care system and the need for additional, specialized resources for these youth, who often face significant barriers to reintegration, including stigma, limited access to education and employment, and a lack of supportive networks. She began working with her foster children, or “bonus babies,” and providing access to resources tailored to their unique needs by creating specialized work plans and partnering with local youth services organizations.

 

In 2025, she decided to expand her reach by establishing Elevating to New Heights. We are currently enhancing our services and resources, developing new partnerships, and recruiting students.
